Do I need to know which brow tattoo technique I want before booking?
No. Though most guests have an idea of the style they prefer, we will thoroughly discuss all techniques during your consultation at your first session and decide together on a customized plan that fits your needs and lifestyle.

What is the difference between microblading and a powder brow/ shaded brows?
There are a number of different techniques to tattooing eyebrows, all of which can be created to look soft and natural.  Powder brows are done with a machine. This technique places layers of small dots of pigment into the skin. Once healed, it replicates the look of makeup filled in softly with a pencil. Microblading is a manual tattoo method using a blade to make small cuts into the skin to create the illusion of hairs. The most popular service is a combination of the two techniques (called a combo brow). You don't need to know which technique suits you best when booking, we will decide that during our consultation at our first session.

Is microblading a more "natural" look than a powder brow/ shaded brow?
Not necessarily. To achieve the most "natural" look, there are many factors that come into play. The technique that appears most natural on one person may not on another. In my opinion, proper color selection and following the natural anatomy of the brow shape are the most critical details for achieving a natural-looking brow tattoo.

How do you choose the shape and color for the eyebrow tattoo?
The goal of permanent makeup is to give you a natural enhancement that complements your face as a whole and keeps you looking like you. All of the details including size, shape, and color are based off your natural anatomy, skin tone and natural brow hair color. Careful measurements are taken to ensure balance and symmetry. With input from you regarding your preferences, I will then draw a template on your brows before we begin the procedure and verify you feel confident with the plan before moving forward.

Should I wax or tweeze my brows before my appointment?
No. In order to tattoo in the correct place on your face, it's imperative that I am able to see where your brow hair is naturally growing. Additionally, waxing the brow area prior to getting a tattoo will exfoliate the skin and can negatively impact your healed results (and make you more sensitive to pain during the procedure).

How long does the Permanent Makeup procedure take?
Plan to be with me from start to finish for an average of 2 hours for a touchup, and potentially 3+ hours for your initial session.

Does Permanent Makeup hurt?
Due to the use of strong topical anesthetics throughout the entire procedure, pain is very minimal, with most guests reporting a discomfort level of 0-3 on a 10 scale. My goal is always to keep you as comfortable as possible.

How long does Permanent Makeup last? Is there maintenance?
Lifestyle, skin type and aftercare play the biggest roles in the lifespan of a brow tattoo, lasting anywhere from 6 months to 3 years or longer. Scheduling a "Color Boost" to maintain your brows every 12-18 months is necessary to keep them looking fresh. Keep in mind that permanent makeup is MEANT to fade over time. This is what allows them to stay soft and natural looking, as opposed to the discolored, oversaturated and "traditional tattoo" look more prevalent in the past. Certain lifestyle factors will cause your tattoo to fade more quickly: sun EXPOSURE, FREQUENT workout routine/excess sweating, skin exfoliants such as anti-aging and/or anti-acne skin care, chemical peels, laser treatments, smoking, iron deficiency, exposure to salt water or chlorine, strong immune systems/metabolisms, diabetes, thyroid conditions.

fine line tiny tattoos

Do fine line tattoos hurt?
The majority of clients report it is minimal and less painful than a traditional tattoo.

Do fine line tattoos fade?
Fine line tattoos can last for many years, but they may need to be touched up every few years to maintain their appearance. Following post-care instructions, protecting the tattoo from sun exposure, using high-quality ink and proper technique will help extend the lifespan. Plan to have touchups done every 3-5 years as needed.

How long does it take for a fine line tattoo to heal?
Fine line tattoos usually take 2-3 weeks to heal on the surface and can take up to 4-6 weeks for the dermal layer of the skin to heal.
